Looking for some great vintage grain sack material?

I LOVE Pottery Barn--and i REALLY LOVE Pottery Barn Outlet--and I am making a visit to the LARGEST PB Outlet in August....so once again I am hoping to fill a U Haul with my finds.....but until then I scope out PB all the time on line....

Right now they have their VERY LARGE Grain Sack Pillow covers on clearance...i ordered one and when i opened it i thought--oh my that is HUGE--like a body pillow cover...not what i was wanting...then I realized this is HUGE great grain sack material with a beautiful red stripe down both sides....for $29.99!!!  I could cover a lot of seat covers for a dining room table with this!!
They measure 45–50” long x 18–20” wide --and rememember you can use BOTH SIDES and are 29.99....You have to check back everyday because I have noticed it says sold out one day -- but they have some the next...just wanted to share this GREAT FIND!
Just search grain sack pillow cover on their website!
Enjoy !!

The tale of 2 little washstands and really cool tags for your items

I was very surprised these 2 did not sell over the weekend.....
I  LOVE vintage washstands...maybe not so much for everyone else?

This one has great original hardware and has been painted in
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Paris Grey and Old White with light wax and a bit of dry brushing over the drawers and door.....

And this little beauty...............
has been painted with Annie Sloan Old White with some distressing and clear wax......

I am going to store them until I have a space here-
I put my name on their waiting list for a space today!

Here are the tags my daughter-in-law made for me....I purchased the tags from a local office supply store & made the stamp with a DIY kit I found on-line....the little nest stamp looks close to the one on the top of my blog....I just love how they turned out!!  I might try tea staining the next batch.......If you do try the DIY stamp--one suggestion--put a tiny drop of glue on the letters as you position them....It will help them stay on longer......

Just love them! ...Pretty excited to get my space....Think it's too soon to call and see if my name has moved up the list?
maybe????

Moss Avenue Sale.........

We had a PERFECT day for the Moss Avenue Sale in Peoria, Illinois.  Moss Avenue has beautiful historic homes on a tree lined street..........The group that manages the sale works with each homeowner leasing the space to vendors.....most people set up in the street or on the grassy front along the sidewalk.....

Here are some shots from my little "shop" for the day!

It was a perfect day and next year i plan on doubling the amount of items i bring......
and maybe do a little Christmas area also......
I LOVE my tags that my daughter in law made for me....I will share a few close up of those in my next post..along with 2 adorable washstands that did not sell....was so surprised of that....but thinking of selling them thru my FB page....Enjoy your Monday!!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Make Over On Metal

I picked this little beauty up at an estate sale...it was FILLED with mouse droppings, remainders of a mouse house, old screws, bolts and nuts....and a lot of other unidentifiable goodies..believe me these  BEFORE pictures are AFTER several hours of cleaning....

While I LOVE the vintage color in these pics--in real life--it was not as pretty.....So I sanded, sanded and sanded a little more and decided to prime with a rust blocking primer....Then I added a little water to a small amount of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Paris Grey-and painted the container....Then went with Old White for the drawers......and added my favorite little stamped numbers!!  Annie Sloan Chalk Paint really covered the metal well....It has the vintage look I was going for........in a great new industrial grey color......

Sorry for the crappy pictures....getting ready for a BIG Ol' Sale Saturday!! Moss Avenue Sale is to Peoria, Illinois what Round Top is to Warrenton, Texas!   Will share pics!

First market sale--lots of work--tons of fun!

Market on Moss was a hit!! Sold several small items and a few big pieces....here are some shots from the day....

Chalkboards are great for sales--you can change them up during the day.....

You can also group items with a single price--saving the time and trouble of separate tags....

 All of these items sold!!

Remember to reposition items thru the day.....it really helps customers see what you have ...

Doing a display helps your customers see how they could place the items in their home....

I think these dolls were the most photographed items at the Market On Moss....

My daughter and daughter in law helped out the entire day....and my granddaughters also...little furniture painters in training!

Happy customer--the BEST kind!

it was a family affair--my oldest granddaughter enjoy passing out my business cards--when she first arrived she recognized all my furniture that I have been storing in the house and garage she looked at me and said, "grandma--dont you want your pretty things anymore"?

It was a great day--and i have decided to do another one this weekend with the pieces I have that did not sell....fingers crossed!!
